Appointment of Mohammad Mirza as the Crown Prince Page 277

In the year 1311 AH (1893/4 AD) he [Mohammad Ali Mirza, Mozzafar-al-Din Shah's son, his mother was divorced by the Shah when he was three] was made the Commander of Azarbijan's Army with the title Sardar Kollie [literally the Overall Commander]. In the year 1313 AH he was appointed as the Crown Prince of His Majesty's Government of Iran and the Governor of Azabijan. The attainment of this appointment was because he was supported by Amin-al-Sultan and Hakim-al-Molk, who were at that time against Ein-al-Doleh who wanted Shoa'-al-Saltaneh whose mother was one of the Qajar princesses to be made crown prince.
